Home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it is also famous for being consistently in the list of dangerous cities. A crime rate of 1,557 per 100,000 residents, with an unemployment rate of 7.4% and a whopping poverty rate of 36%. Knowing the impact of unemployment and poverty on crime rate, it’s no surprise Cleveland’s dubbed the “Most Dangerous City” in Ohio. In a 2017 report, it had 107 homicides and nearly 6,000 violent crimes reported. Highways, alleys, streets, and sidewalks are the most common locations of violent crimes in Cleveland although they also take place in residences, and your chance of becoming a victim of one of these crimes is one in 64. It still is a great city, just be careful.
