The Arg of Karim Khan is a citadel that was built back in the mid-1700s precisely for Khan, who used it as his living quarters. But one look at the place and people would assume that it looked more like a fortress to make sure that he was kept safe inside it, which in truth worked when it was made into a prison for some time later on. Because it was once used as a military center, it makes sense that its original architecture was based on what a fortress would truly look like. These days, it’s open to the public and used as a museum which is run by the Cultural Heritage Organization of Iran.
