This pretty actress was doing minor roles in movies like The Horse Whisperer, and Remember the Titans, when she finally got a break in the box-office hit Blue Crush. The movie did relatively well, raking in about $40 million in the US alone. Her performance got favourable reviews from critics and adoring fans. Following this success, she accepted the lead role of the low-budget film Wonderland in 2003, opposite Val Kilmer. Unfortunately, she played the role of Lois Lane in the superhero movie flop, Superman Returns. It seemed that this movie was a curse to the lead roles, as Brandon Routh as Superman also lost out. So much was anticipated for the movie, there was so much hype before it showed. Well, Kate still continues acting in films and shows, but has yet to land a great, high-profile movie.
