He gained international recognition through minor roles in Hollywood films, like The Great Raid. But his big break came when he was cast for the lead role in Avatar, one of the top grossing films of all time. This brought more good films for the talented actor, other leading roles in hits such as Clash of the Titans, and Terminator Salvation. But surprisingly, he failed to become a household name in Hollywood. Sometimes you are up, and sometimes you go down. Hopefully he will be able to recover and get more lead roles in hits.
