One Of the First Supermodels, Countess Vera von Lehndorff-Steinort

Groovy History

Although supermodels were the most influential in the late 80’s and 90’s, there were quite a number of them from the 60’s and 70’s that will always be remembered. Countess Vera von Lehndorff-Steinort, who also went by the name Veruschka, was quite popular in the 60’s. She graced the covers of multiple magazines including LIFE magazine, all four major Vogue magazine publications, and even worked with artist Salvador Dali. At her peak, she was earning $10,000 a day, which would be like earning over $80,000 in 2021.
