Elvis Presley Stationed In Germany While Serving in the U.S. Army

Everyone knows Elvis Presley as the “King of Rock and Roll” but what some don’t know is that he was actually in the United States Army, serving between the years of 1958 to 1960. Despite his “royal title,” he was called into service, and went through basic training, then eventually advanced training, after which he was sent overseas to serve some time in Germany for almost two years. He was more than happy to fulfill his duties for his country, sharing “I’m kind of proud of it. It’s a duty I’ve got to fill and I’m going to do it.”
