Two Rock ‘n Roll Legends, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin

Groovy History

Like a number of other rock and roll legends, both Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin both died from drug overdoses, both at the age of 27. Before their tragic deaths, the played in Woodstock in 1968, as well as making albums in the famous Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. This particular photograph shows the musicians having fun backstage while taking photographs and goofing around. Sadly for both of their families and their fans, they died within the same year, 1970, less than one month apart.
