Two Beatles Hanging Out With a Bird in 1968

Groovy History

Two of The Beatles, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, just hanging out with a parrot for their “Mad Day Out” photoshoot in 1968 with Don McCullin. McCartney called up McCullin and told him to take photographs of the band as they went to seven different locations all around London. There were a few other photographers, such as Tony Bramwell and Ronald Fitzgibbon to name a few, that tagged along with the group, while they took loads and loads of photographs of the group, as well as Yoko Ono and McCartney’s girlfriend at the time, Francie Schwartz. Eventually, 88 photos were chosen and appeared in McCullin’s book, “A Day in the Life of the Beatles.”
