Sean Connery and Ursula Andress Filming the James Bond Film Dr. No

Groovy History

If you’re a true fan of James Bond, then you’ll probably agree that Sean Connery was the best 007 agent of all time. Here he is filming Dr. No with Swiss actress Ursula Andress in 1961, many of which say she was also the ultimate Bond girl. This was the very first Bond film to be made, and also the one to win over Ian Fleming, the author of all the James Bond books. He had originally wanted Cary Grant to play the agent 007, but after seeing Connery, he decided that he was “ideal” for the part. So ideal in fact, that Fleming began to write Bond’s character to have a Scottish background, since Connery is a Scot.
