Best Friends in Music and In Life, Waylon Jennings and Buddy Holly

Groovy History

Many consider Buddy Holly as the pioneer in rock and roll music. Some of hit songs like “Peggy Sue,” “Everyday” and “That’ll Be the Day” reportedly influenced other huge music personalities like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones. This photograph, which was taken back in 1959, shows Holly with his bandmate and best friend, Waylon Jennings who played bass for him. Jennings also shared, “Buddy was the first person to have faith in my music. He encouraged me in my music and my writing. He was my friend. If anything I’ve ever done is remembered, part of it because of Buddy Holly.”
