Almost everybody knows who Oprah Winfrey is, wherever part of the world they come from. The “Queen of All Media” is the richest African-American woman in the world. In fact, she is in the billionaire’s listing. She is a media executive, talk show host, actress, TV producer, and philanthropist. Best known for her talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, which was the highest-rated television program of its kind in history which ran from 1986 to 2011. Earnings from the show, as well as from her production company Harpo (Oprah spelled backwards) contributed mainly to her incredible growth in wealth. She also owns a cable channel called OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) which is cash flow positive. Yet she never hid the fact that she grew up in poverty, and had a miserable life. She looks like a billion bucks now, but you may not have recognized her in photos when she had a simpler, less fortunate life.
