Jacob Tamme is one of the top scholar-athletes in the country. He completed his degree in integrated strategic communications in only 3 years with a GPA of 3.82, and earned his MBA before entering the NFL. His GPA in graduate school was 3.83. Although he only scored a 34 in the Wonderlic test, he is still considered to have genius-level intellect by many scholars and experts. It appears his love for football influenced his decision to play professionally. This veteran tight end had a remarkable and productive career in the NFL. He retired last 2017. Back in 2007, Tamme was one of the 15 finalists for the Draddy Trophy, an award given to the top scholar-athlete in the country. It recognizes exceptional individuals for their academic success, football performance, and exemplary community leadership.
