Mamula may not have been an NFL superstar, but he was a solid player who played five seasons as a linebacker and defensive end with the Philadelphia Eagles. His best seasons were in 1996 and 1999. However, he is definitely an NFL Wonderlic super-genius who got 49 out of 50, the second highest score ever. He played college ball at Boston College, and in 1995, was chosen in the first round, 7th overall pick, by the Eagles. He retired due to injuries by the year 2000. Mamula was inducted into Boston College’s Sports Hall of Fame. Critics called him the “workout warrior” because of his exceptional Combine showing. This includes the 49 score on the Wonderlic. However, much more was expected of him in the NFL. Even though he had a mediocre professional career, his football prowess was evident during his Boston College days.
