Alexander Douglas Smith is an NFL quarterback for the Washington Redskins. He played college football for the Utah Utes, and led Utah to a victory over Pittsburgh at the 2005 Fiesta Bowl, finishing in the national top five. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the first overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. He scored 40 out of 50 in the Wonderlic test. He has set severaL NFL and franchise records including a 158.3 passing rating or what is known as a perfect passing game. 2018 was a bad year for Smith physically. He broke his tibia and fibula in his right leg mid-November. He endured an intense recovery that included surgeries to fix the spiral fractures in his bones, as well as multiple procedures to protect his leg from infection. The Redskins lost four straight games without him, including an embarrassing home loss to the New York Giants. But the good news is that Alex Smith is okay and ready to play.
