Tibetan Mastiff

HighEdge Tibetan Mastiffs

This member of the large Mastiff family was originally bred in China, Tibet, and Nepal, and looks like a giant Chow Chow Dog. They can reach a height of 33 inches, and weigh usually about 160 pounds. They were meant to protect flocks in Asia, and challenge wolves and leopards. These tough dogs have a beautiful coat, and will surely be noticed when you take them for a walk. But, they are independent thinkers, and usually do what they think they should do. It is important to train and socialize them extensively. Not really recommended for your young children, because they are overprotective and may consider other children playing with them as a threat. They are barkers, and love to dig, so a yard is suitable for this breed.
