Yet another Turkish livestock guardian dog. They can be as tall as 34 inches, and weigh almost 140 pounds. It may be leaner than other guardian dogs, but is equally protective and fierce. They need serious training and socialization if they are to be kept as home pets. They are suited to be partners, and not subordinates…something you need to remember. Having said this, it is not recommended for novice owners. You need the experience to be gentle yet firm, strong but not imposing. They live to about 11 years, though some have lived to over 15 years old. Great companions to have.
