She’s Only Called In Sick Once On Her Show

Ellen’s show has been on the air since 2003, which means that she has had thousands of shows since she first started on daytime television. Each season has at least 34 weeks per year, with 5 episodes per week, and since she first started, she has only ever missed 1 episode throughout her career! Incredible! It was on January 24, 2014 when she came down with the flue and no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t make it to the show. She asked for Ellie Kemper to take her place, the actress from ‘The Office’ and ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.’ We can only imagine how nerve-wracking it must have been to fill such big shoes, but thankfully, Kemper was able to do it with grace and ease.
