Never Think You Can Purchase All You Need In Stores

Cuban stores are few, and most are quite a walk away. Not many will have stocks of items such as basic commodities like shampoo, toothpaste, and soap. Better bring enough with you for your trip. Even if you bring more than you need, you can always find someone to barter with. Some hotels have stores that are more well equipped. Expect ridiculously high prices though. If you have a hard time finding an item you need, ask for help from a local, or your hotel staff. If you are staying at a casa, ask the owner where you can purchase some items. Don’t expect much though. Be prepared to get disappointed.
