Don’t Expect Roaming Phone Service

This is another luxury not found in Cuba. Just don’t count on it. If you need to make an international call, you have to go to a phone center. Not all hotels can service international calls. And it will be expensive, so limit the time on the phone. For local calls, you can purchase a phone card called Tarjeta Propia. You can find them all over. You can make calls from any local or public phone. Best if you have friends who are locals, or need to coordinate schedules with your host. So basically, your cell phone is not really usable or reliable in Cuba. so much for technology.
