Most Greeks can communicate in English, especially those under 40 years old. They have been taught English since their early years in grade school. Some also speak different languages like Spanish, Italian, German, to name a few. However, remote areas with older citizens may not speak English, so it serves you best to learn some important Greek phrases. Either that or prepare to do sign or body language.
