Greece loves cash. Though most hotels and resorts accept various credit cards, traditional tavernas, or remote islands, only accept cash. Bring enough cash for your daily planned routine. Just don’t bring all your money with you. Bring enough for your day’s activities. Leave the rest secure in your hotel safe. There are also many ATM’s in tourist areas. Just make sure you go to the ones that are in shopping areas, banks, and not the old looking ones. They may not be able to read your card if you have the newer ones with a chip.
