Don’t Think Everyone Speaks English

If you’re only staying in the tourist areas, it wouldn’t be surprising to see everyone there speaking in English. But even if Puerto Rico is a United States territory or affiliate, don’t expect everyone in the smaller towns or cities to speak English as Spanish is still the primary language. It would be advisable to at least learn a few courtesies like “thank you”, “sorry”, and “please” when you visit as it will surely be appreciated.
