Although buses may be cheap, they don’t service the whole island and is only reliable if you’re in the center or in San Juan. Otherwise, trips are quite infrequent. Uber is almost non-existent and Lyft is definitely not an option so you will have to rely on taxis, which can get pretty expensive, or rent a car, which can also be expensive, with the added concern of driving through the notorious streets of San Juan.
