Never Apologize For Burping In Public

Belching in public is considered impolite even if you didn’t intentionally do it. Though you might feel some relief after burping, this is an unpleasant experience for the Russians around you. Long, loud, and expressive voluntary burping is seen as incredibly rude. However, if you had swallowed too much air and can’t stop yourself from burping, try to do it discreetly and noiselessly. If you end up involuntarily releasing a loud one, don’t apologize to the people near you. They probably didn’t see you burp, but by apologizing, you confessed that you’re the one who did it. Even if they caught you burp, don’t be quick to admit your transgression because the Russians will most likely act like they didn’t notice. Everyone could also just pretend you don’t know the culprit or silently blame the burping on a dog.
