Never Forget To Watch Out For Icicles

Source: https://d.ibtimes.co.uk

Icicles are beautiful, glistening spikes of frozen water, hanging off the roofs of houses, buildings, and other structures. While they’re pretty to look at, they also pose a lot of danger. They may suddenly fall because they’ve grown too large and too heavy, and you don’t want to be the poor, unsuspecting fellow to catch them. Temperature abruptly rising or accumulated snow sliding down the roof can also cause these icicles to fall. As whimsical as icicles appear, an annual average of 15 people die in icicle-related accidents in the United States. Unfortunately, this number is over six times higher in Russia. So, watch out for these pointy ice sticks and be extra careful around them when the wind is strong or when the sun is shining directly on them, causing them to partly melt, loosen, and fall.
