Never Finish Your Drink If You’re Not Ready For Another

It’s your third night in Moscow, and you’ve accepted that you cannot compete with a Russian when it comes to drinking. You also don’t want to push your luck and end up in a Russian hospital because you’re not sure if your medical insurance is valid in Russia, and you don’t want to miss the following day’s trek to Serednikovo. So, unless you can handle consecutive shots of vodka like the locals, nurse your drink and always keep your glass half full. The Russians won’t consider it rude if you hold on to your glass and not empty it within the first minutes. Only put your glass down if you’re ready for your next drink. Also, the Russians aren’t intentionally trying to get you drunk. They refill your empty glass out of courtesy.
