The Sabrina star and the American actor crossed paths when they attended a party hostel with their mutual friend, Gregory Peck. They then collaborated on the play Ondine. They eventually fell in love and made things official in 1954. They married in Switzerland and went to Rome for their honeymoon. Photographers captured them standing in the garden at the Villa Rolli in Albano. This was also the time they were preparing for the same movie in 1956 War and Peace. Then, they opted to go for a second honeymoon with a trip in 1957 aboard the ship S.S. Queen Mary. They got to see the snow on the Swiss mountaintops, which was a reminder of their wedding that took place in Burgenstock, Switzerland.
