The Superman position is when your doggie lies down on the ground with their tummies pressed flat on the floor, and their front and back legs are both stretched outwards. Puppies and incredibly playful dogs love to sleep in this position.
When your dog falls asleep in the Superman position, it’s due to the fact that he or she is both tired and ready to play if the chance for playtime pops up! Trainer Jen Jones states, “This position allows for dogs to snooze quickly, but be ready to hop up at a moment’s notice to play.” Again, high energy dogs tend to sleep in this position when they nap in the day time.
