Gavin MacLeod has acted in quite a large number of movies and television shows, but he was most recognizable as the lovable Captain Merrill Stubing on the television series, The Love Boat, starring in 249 episodes of the highly popular show. This was right after coming off The Mary Tylor Moore Show, where he was in hundreds of episodes too. But throughout his life, he was so recognizable as Captain Stubing that he even became the spokesperson for the ever popular Princess Cruises.
