Humphrey Bogart is probably the epitome of America’s Golden Age, having begun his career in Hollywood in the 1930s but truly making his mark for his roles in The Maltese Falcon and more so, Casablanca. Bogart would become so famous, in fact, that he actually said one time, “There was a period in American history when you couldn’t pick up a goddamned magazine without seeing my kisser in it.” He won numerous awards, all incredibly well-deserved. Sadly, when he was just 57 years old, he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and died around one year later.
