One of the most distinguishable faces on television, Barbara Walters has been on your television screens since the 1950s, but her most recognizable stint was as the co-host of NBC’s The Today Show, the first woman to be given that role on an American news program. It was said that Walters didn’t just break the ceiling when it came to women moving up in the journalism industry, but she actually shattered it. Walters was also known for her exceedingly strong and effective manner in which she interviewed, having spoken to a number of famous figures anywhere from other celebrities to public figures. Walters also created the highly in demand morning show, The View, and is even a Hall of Fame winner, alongside many of the other accolades she received during her long and successful career.
