Mostly recognizable for his silent films, Charles “Charlie” Chaplin is a British actor who was forced to sing in front of an audience during one of his mom’s performances after her voice gave out when he was just five years old. This was the stepping stone that led him to become the comedic and silent star that he became famous for. By the time he was 26, Charlie was making more money imaginable for those times, however as his work progressed, some of his work was so disliked he was even stopped from visiting particular states within the United States. Although he wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, he will forever take the crown for the most famous silent movie star in the world.
