Vivian Vance Was Forced to Weigh More Than Lucy

Another huge issue that producers didn’t want anyone to know was the Vivian Vance was forced to weigh more than Lucy throughout the duration of the series. In fact, it was in her contract! If Lucy gained weight, Vance had to gain more. Although this is just rumored, supposedly Lucille felt that Vivian wasn’t frumpy-looking enough, something she wanted since Lucy had to look more attractive than the others on the show. In fact, it was even said that this caused a large rift between the two actresses in the beginning of the show. This is probably one contract stipulation that no one could push for in this day and age.
