15. Omphalophobia: Fear of belly buttons

You may have heard it in Sunday School: The only human beings without belly buttons, as biblical lore would have it, were Adam and Eve. With stomachs unmarked by the umbilical cord scar, the first man and woman to walk the earth would have passed every omphalophobiacs standards. Sufferers of this odd phobia avoid looking at or touching their own navels or that of other people, at all costs. No beach trips and midriff tops for these folk.
