Not limited to facial hair, good luck convincing the chaetophobiac that one’s tresses are one’s crowning glory. Someone who deals with this type of intense fear is turned off by the very thought of hair; much more so by the sight and feel of it. As such, chaetophobiacs are intensely afraid of everyday activities like combing or running their fingers through their locks. A nuance of this fear is trichopathophobia, which is the specific fear of hair color, hair growth, and diseases of the hair. Many people who deal with either phobia end up shaving or pulling out all their bodily hair.
