8. Octophobia: Fear of the number eight

If you clicked on this, the eighth phobia on the list, then you are clearly not an octophobiac. A person with octophobia grapples with a deep fear of the number 8. Some studies say that because the number 8 looks like an infinity sign, octophobia, in its deeper layers, involves a fear of the unknown. Of course, a much more common phobia involving a specific number is triskaidekaphobia, or fear of the number 13, for reasons largely rooted in superstition.
