Although born in Melbourne, Australia, British bombshell Laura Robson has lived in the United Kingdom since she was six. Starting in the sport at a very young age, she already had sponsors by the time she was 11, signing up with Adidas as well as Wilson Sporting Goods. She showed so much promise, winning the Wimbledon Junior Girls’ Championship at the age of 14, becoming WTA Newcomer of the Year for 2012, while also winning a silver medal in the mixed doubles at the 2012 London Olympics. She climbed the rankings and reached number 27, but plagued by a string of injuries, including to her wrist and hip, she struggled and fell down the rankings. She hopes to put her past struggles behind after undergoing her second hip surgery at the end of 2019.
