Raluca Olaru was born in Bucharest, Romania on March 3, 1989. She enjoyed success as a junior player, winning the US Open doubles title in 2006. She hasn’t won any singles title in the WTA tour, but has won 9 in the doubles competition. Her best showing in a Grand Slam tournament was a third-round appearance in the 2007 French Open, where she fell to Ana Ivanovic. She was part of the Romanian contingent in the recent Fed Cup, but with the team missing the services of top players like Simona Halep, they failed to qualify for the finals, falling to Russia, 3-2.
