Another long-legged beauty from Russia’s bevy of tennis greats, Elena Dementieva had a prolific start, winning her first international tournament at age 13. She cracked the top 100 not long after and made her mark on the women’s tour, winning 16 WTA singles titles and climbing to as high as number three in the rankings in 2009. She may not have won a Grand Slam, falling in the finals of the 2004 French and US Open, but she claimed gold in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and silver in Sydney 2000.
