The third doll in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition in 2009 that featured the pictorial “Volley of the Dolls,” Tatiana Golovin is a Russian-born French tennis player who reached her highest ranking of number 12 in 2008. Unfortunately, the French doll had to retire at the peak of her career, at the very young age of 20. The winner of two WTA singles titles had an injury-plagued season in 2008, eventually getting diagnosed with a chronic back inflammation known as ankylosing spondylitis. This also cost her the chance of competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After 11 years away from competing, during which she became a commentator and consultant for BeIn Sports, Tatiana staged a comeback in October of 2019, playing at the Luxembourg Open as a wildcard.
