America’s tennis sweetheart and media darling Chris Evert deserved all the accolades and admiration she was bestowed, winning a staggering 157 singles titles, including 18 Grand Slams. Also known as the “Ice Maiden” for maintaining her cool in high-pressure situations, Chrissie was a picture of consistency, as she ended numerous years ranked number one and shined where it mattered most: winning at least 1 Grand Slam title for 13 consecutive years, having reached the semifinals or better in 52 of the 56 Grand Slams that she competed in. Her rivalry with Martina Navratilova, another tennis legend, was considered one of the greatest. She was inducted in the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1995 and is regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time.
