The Miami Dolphins were struggling early in the game against the New York Jets, trailing 10-0 at halftime. However, the Dolphins mounted a comeback in the second half, and was within three points, 24-21, with less than 30 seconds left in the game. As the Dolphins ran to the line of scrimmage, Marino yelled, “Clock! Clock! Clock!” and motioned the spike with his right hand. The Jets defense seemed to relax but instead of spiking, Marino passed the ball to wide receiver Mark Ingram for the game-winning 8-yard touchdown, and Miami grabbing the lead, and the victory at 28-24.
