The New England Patriots overcame a 10-point deficit against the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLIX to take the lead 28-24. With 26 seconds left, and the Seahawks at second and goal from the 1-yard line, and with a timeout, everybody knew what was going to happen next as they had with them perhaps the most physically dominant running back in the game in Marshawn Lynch, dubbed “Beast Mode” for his powerful running style. However, instead of a rushing play, a pass play was called for wide receiver Ricardo Lockette. But the play was read beautifully by rookie reserve cornerback Malcolm Butler, who rushed into position just in time to make the interception and seal the win for the Patriots.
