As strange as it sounds, they even called it “Anthropology Days,” which honestly feels like an insult right? And one would think that the Olympic committee has changed over the years but honestly, one can still feel the distaste when it comes to indigenous groups. Apparently back in 1994, Cathy Freeman, who happens to be an Olympic runner, got into trouble when she ran an extra victory lap carrying both the Australian flag and the Aboriginal flag. Then almost 20 years later, boxer Damien Hooper almost got fined when he wore a shirt that had an Aboriginal flag displayed proudly on it. Sad, but true.
