Reportedly, she was a “token” Jewish athlete that Hitler used to try and prove that the Jews still had rights in their country. But little did anyone know that just a few years later, Hitler was going to do what most people claim were the worst hate crimes against humanity in the entire world. Meyer not only won a silver medal, she even saluted Hitler at the end of the games in perfect Nazi form lest she suffer Hitler’s fury.
