In fact, Germany actually hosted the 1936 summer games, with Adolf Hitler at the helm of the country that was soon going to feel his undeniable and monstrous wrath. One such Jewish woman was going to became a forgotten face in the masses despite the fact that she had won a silver medal in fencing for Germany during the Olympics. Helene Meyer’s father was Jewish, which in turn was enough for her to lose any of her rights as a German citizen, even though she participated in the games.
