If you happen to be a smoker, remember that there are designated places for smoking, whether in a restaurant, hotel, bar, or in public. Even when you see tuk-tuk drivers smoking and dumping their butts on the streets, don’t try and do the same. It is a police scam against tourists. They allow the tuk-tuk drivers to litter, hoping some tourists will do the same. You will be fined heavily. Look for places with signs and ashtray bins, that is the place to smoke. Just check your surroundings also. It may be located in seedy and dangerous areas. You can always ask a decent looking local where you can smoke.
