Never Forget To Return A Wai

Thai people don’t normally shake hands when greeting each other. They do the “wai”, which is the act of putting your palms together at the chest (like a prayer) and slightly bowing. If someone greets you with a wai, not responding similarly is impolite. If you are holding stuff, then a simple bow will suffice. Thai people admire foreigners who know the tradition of the “wai”.
