On Thanksgiving Day, Tiger tried covering his tracks by texting or calling the women he had affairs with, including Jaimee Grubbs. He didn’t know that Elin had earlier called Jaimee on his phone and also left a voice message. When Tiger, a noted insomniac, fell asleep after taking Ambien, Elin again went through his phone and found a text message from him that read “You are the only one I’ve ever loved.” She texted the same number again to confirm her suspicions, and after a reply came in, Elin called the number. Elin immediately recognized the voice from the other line and freaked out. Tiger was roused from his sleep by Elin’s shouting and realized what happened. He locked himself in the bathroom and texted Uchitel.
