In 2001 during the Open Championship, the number one golfer in the world met Elin Nordegren. The two were introduced to each other by Jesper Parnevik, a Swedish professional golfer and a five-time PGA Tour winner himself whose career-best ranking of number seven in 2000 made him the highest ranked Swedish golfer at the time. The two golfers hung out and were both members of the Medalist Golf Club in Florida. At the time, several other golfers had been lining up to meet the Swedish beauty. Apparently, Tiger had been asking to be introduced to Elin since the previous year, even when Elin was still seeing someone at the time. She even turned down Tiger Woods when he first asked her out, later admitting that she had no interest in golfers.
